Facebook, LinkedIn, Quora, and Pinterest do not have public APIs that allow access to mention data.

So, for those platforms we actually leverage Search Engines to do the searching for us. The data we can see is much like if you typed your keyword into Google and then limited the search to Facebook, LinkedIn, Quora or Pinterest.
